See Benjamin Britten’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, Op. 64 (1960); Libretto adapted from Shakespeare’s play by Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears.
In three acts, Britten’s opera is based on Shakespeare’s popular comedy of the same title which follows the consequences of a spat between the fairy-king Oberon and his queen, Tytania. Follow no less than 19 different enchanted characters as they get tangled in relationship quadrangles, mistaken identities and transformations!

In support of SG Bicentennial, the Temple of Fine Arts (TFA) is staging “Hrdaya – Heartstrings” on 16th & 17th August 2019, at the SOTA Drama Theatre. Hrdaya is an original music score conceived and presented by TFA, and explores the emotions and thoughts of Sir Stamford Raffles as he stood on the Island 200 years ago, to the Singapore of today and its inhabitants.
In addition to live orchestra presenting original music, Hrdaya will also feature the delivery of poetry woven into its narrative, abridged from the works of notable poets from all across the world. Live puppetry will accompany one of the musical compositions. Hrdaya will also carry original works of paintings at the foyer of the theatre.
