Held every third Saturday of the month, Gardeners’ Day Out is the signature event at HortPark (a.k.a. “the gardening hub” of Singapore). It’s got free activities for young and old alike, including workshops on growing fruit plants and selecting indoor plants in Singapore as well as a Painting with Nature session (held in Vineyard restaurant’s al fresco dining area from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and The Bee Trail (10 to 11:30 a.m.), where children walk-and-learn about 20 different types of bees in HortPart!
(Note: Registration for guided walks is required at the Visitor Services Centre, up to 30 minutes before the start of the tour.)
What is Sensorium? Oh, you know, just Singapore’s first polysensorial carnival. “Scent creation is only part of our story,” explains festival curator Terry Jacobson. “As an advocate of polysensoriality, I personally hope to inspire people to harness the power of our collective senses to make meaning of the increasingly complex world around us.”
Dive deep into your senses at this two-day festival, which features exhibitions, workshops, tastings and crafted gifts (think candle-making, hands-on mixology sessions, even a bubble parade!). The first 300 to pre-register for free will receive a starter kit that includes a 100ml complimentary juice and an 8ml nenä natural remedy.
Inspired by the gastronomic Mercado de San Miguel and the colourful Portobello Market in London, Greenwood Fish Market is hosting its very first farmer’s market.
Indulge in complimentary wine tastings and generous samples of caviar, truffle products and preservative-free sausages. And, make sure to check out the lounge-transformed-showroom of boutique fashion and pet accessories instead. There will even be fluffy companions-dogs up for adoption and looking for loving homes!
