The district may not sound familiar to most people unless you live around there – but, we think it won’t stay that way for long.
Nestled between Bukit Batok, Bukit Panjang and Bukit Timah, Hillview is more than just an upscale residential area. Find out why this is a must-visit vicinity especially if you are a fan of nature, heritage, and shopping.
This could possibly be the only single-storey shopping centre in Singapore that spreads out instead being squeezed into a building. Don’t miss your chance to try the Murtaburger (a cross between murtabak and burger), Salted Egg Prawn Prata (we kid you not) and other fun innovate prata options at Springleaf Prata Place here.

Did you know Singapore has a rich railway heritage beyond the former Tanjong Pagar railway station? It was once part of the Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) railway line, connecting travellers to and from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Check out the 60m-long heavy steel truss bridge at Upper Bukit Timah Road – now a conserved landmark and part of the Green Corridor.
Find out how you can visit this spectacular structure and other points of interest along route here.
Upper Bukit Timah Road
Curious to know what the remains of the KTM railway line looked like in the past? The tracks have since been removed, but head to Hillview MRT Station to find eight huge photos taken by landscape and architectural photographer Darren Soh in homage to the trains that once ran in the Hillview and Bukit Timah area.

Located just next to Hillview MRT station, the Salvation Army’s thrift store is a great place for bargain hunters and eco-conscious shoppers who want to prolong the life of used goods. What we love most about this place is how neatly-organised everything is and the items are in great condition too! They also accept donations in kind here so you can drop off your used stuff here.

This lush 63-hectare park is right next to the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and with a lovely nature trail to enjoy. Try to spot fruit trees like rambutan, jackfruit and mango trees in the area. Mountain biking enthusiasts will be happy to know they can start the Bukit Timah Mountain Bike Trail from this park (pictured). Check out this map as a guide.
Do note pets are not allowed on the trails.
100 Dairy Farm Rd, 679057
Hidden within Dairy Farm Nature Park lies a secret serene spot with a beautiful view! The Singapore Quarry has been transformed into a wetland habitat and is a great place for a quiet rest on your nature trail. It is definitely worth walking into the forest for.
There is a paved road, about 1.1 km long, from Dairy Farm Road that will lead you to the Singapore Quarry.
A part of a residential building, this small and upscale mall has plenty of gourmet dining offerings within its two floors. Don’t miss your chance to visit one of the three Dean & DeLuca (pictured) outlets in Singapore here.
Not sure how to get there? There is a convenient shuttle bus that will take you to the mall.
