Gastrointestinal and laproscopic surgeon Dr. Melvin Look is the founder of PanAsia Surgery Group, which has three locations around SG. He’s also a cool dad to a teenage son.
Recently, Dr. Look has collaborated with wellness restaurant Frunatic to provide individualised therapeutic and fine dining-esque meals for his post-surgical patients to help optimise their recovery.
He completed his surgical training in Singapore but spent several years on training scholarships in Tokyo, Edinburgh, New York and Washington D.C.
Swipe to find out more about his favourite things to do and places to go in SG:
One of his favourite places to taste rare and exquisite single-malt whiskies is at Johnnie Walker House. Why? “This luxurious appointed bar, run by Diageo for private clients, has stunning views overlooking the Singapore River.” Noted!
Each year, he says he looks forward to Masters of Wines and Spirits hosted by DFS. “It’s an excellent way to sample their offerings in a unique setting.” JICYC, the 2018 event was held at hip The Warehouse Hotel.
“I love the eclectic vibe of my Joo Chiat neighbourhood,” shares Dr. Look, who frequents Choice Cuts Goods + Coffee for its good coffee and fine selection of hip hop, R&B and funk vinyls. “The man behind the establishment is DJ Jnr Tirso, and you can tell his passion for music.”
