Got kids who have endless energy but not ready to brave the crowds at an indoor playground? Head outdoors! These 5 spots are great for biking, scoot-ing, skating or just running around.
So maybe it’s no secret but East Coast Park has everything you need for a day at the beach (or on a bike path, or grassy areas). This popular destination for biking, inline skating and scooter-ing has plenty of stops for drinks and snacks (try The Big Splash or Parkland Green).
Need a scooter? White and Black Trading has the latest Mini and Maxi Micro scooters in cool colours your kids will love. Shop for all your safety gear too!
Another option for families on wheels is Punggol Waterway Park. The scenic path in the east in well-maintained and a quiet spot for kids who may still be learning how to manoeuvre and need a little more room to move.
Sorry West Coasters, Pasir Ris Park is also on the East Coast. BUT, this recently renovated park is worth the trip out. With a massive play area – complete with slides, swings, climbing structures, and jungle gyms – and lovely ocean breezes, this is one of Singapore’s best play areas.
With such an extensive and FUN play area, Pasir Ris Park is a great spot to practice skateboarding too. Expect smaller crowds (compared to East Coast Park) on the paved pathways – perfect for testing out a Penny skateboard from White and Black Trading.
This unique spot offering both a cliff-side view of Singapore vegetation as well as the sea is a great spot to take the family. After you spend some time on your scooters, skates and bikes, stop for a bit of fishing. Various species of fishes can be caught here if you don’t mind waiting for them to bite!
Another park perfect for active kids, Bedok Reservoir has an expansive network of paved paths but also offers various water sports (kayaking and dragon boating) as well as an aerial tree obstacle course. Bring a Crazy Catch ball, available at White and Black Trading, for a quick game of catch!
