Looking for some unique ways to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings of Singapore? The Botanic Gardens has four fantastic workshops both kids and parents will love!

 

Home Gardening: The Fundamentals & Another Perspective

This beginner’s workshop is perfect for any budding green thumb. Learn how to choose the right plants, best watering practices, as well as the use of fertilisers, re-potting and pruning and other general plant care techniques. You’ll also learn about the alternative Hydroculture (soil-free) approach to gardening. Participants will then be led on a guided tour around the Tanglin Core of Singapore Botanic Gardens to learn and discuss about the different types of plants suitable for home gardening. Alien Invaders: Freshwater Edition

For a fun morning with the kids, head to Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden for a talk and guided tour about alien invaders! These non-native, invading species found in the Gardens cause harm to other native plants and animals. Learn to identify these “alien” species during the guided tour and help the native species protect their home! Suitable for children at the KP1 – P6 levels. “Celebrating Wildlife” Series: Glorious Trees of Botanic Gardens

Calling all animal-loving children! In this workshop, kids will learn that all animals are unique, beautiful and important and have the right to live free and happy on this island. Trees like the grand old Kapok Tree are homes for animals and plants. Kids will explore our heritage trees and learn about species that live in and on them and get the chance to make their very own Dipterocarp seed out of paper! Easter Day Special Workshop

In town for Easter? Come celebrate Easter at the Botanic Gardens and learn how to make an Easter Bunny using recycled materials. Great for hands-on learning! Children will decorate their own Easter Bunny and learn about the importance of recycling. Sure to an egg-citing time! Suitable for children at the K1 – P6 levels.
