The best things in life are free. Perhaps partly because they don’t cost a cent – consult these services in Singapore that’ll make life this much easier (and cheaper!).
Have we mentioned that they’re free?
Get your heart pumping with the Health Promotion Board’s Sunrise in the City programme, a free selection of classes islandwide, including all sorts of yoga, kickboxing, k-pop dancing, and more.
Check the schedule and sign up here. Places fill up quickly, though, so fastest fingers first!
NEXT: FREE use of sport facilities →
Organising a game? Book the outdoor community facilities such as basketball courts and beach volleyball courts at the Singapore Sports Hub for free.
NEXT: FREE Wi-Fi →
You’ll no longer be busting the data limit on your phone with the free wi-fi all over Singapore, from restaurants and cafes to MRT stations and shopping malls. Search for places that offer Wireless@SG wifi with this handy list.
NEXT: FREE charging stations →
City Hall, Orchard, Tanjong Pagar, Kent Ridge and Ang Mo Kio MRT stations provide free charging stations to refuel your mobile devices on the go.
But that also means no more ignoring texts with the excuse “Sorry, battery went flat!”
NEXT: FREE food →
Several temples in Singapore serve free lunches that are open to not only the less needy but also to the general public. The Singapore Buddhist Lodge has one of the biggest selection of dishes (with fruits to complete your meal too!); there’s also the Central Sikh Temple and Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, to name a few.
Eat for free, but do leave a donation at the temples to support this charitable cause!
NEXT: FREE transport →
Look out for free shuttle services to office districts during peak hours in particular, as well as less accessible malls. For instance, shuttle buses run between Chinatown, Redhill and Orchard MRT stations to Great World City.
NEXT: FREE entertainment →
There are tons of entertainment options around the island that don’t require you to spend a single cent, from afternoon concerts at the Singapore Botanic Gardens (just bring your picnic mat and some food!) to musical performances in the evenings in the Esplanade as well as by the bay.
NEXT: FREE tours around town →
Have visitors in town, or simply want to be a tourist in your own city for a day? Join one of the free Singapore Footprints walking tours organised by the enthusiastic Nanyang Technological University’s Tourism and Hospitality Management Club.
It’s sort of the best of both worlds: Trace Singapore’s roots and embrace her culture, and find the hidden gems that the hip youngsters of Singapore frequent.
NEXT: FREE photo printing →
The only catch is that there’ll be advertisements printed on the back of your photographs, but hey, it’s a small price to pay (or, literally speaking, no price to pay) to preserve your memories.
NEXT: FREE everything else! →
