GESS is one of the few international schools in Singapore that has more than 10 years of experience in offering the full range of IB programmes (Primary Years Programme to IB Diploma), and its students have repeatedly received IB scores that are above the world average.
GESS is also accredited by the Council of International Schools, which enables its graduates to be competitive applicants to universities in the US. With strong European foundations, GESS celebrates respect, openness and inclusiveness, and its students of more than 50 nationalities benefit from the following aspects:
GESS aims to help students retain their mother tongue language. For instance, its Language Enrichment Programme (LEP) uses authentic language-focused activities like interactive games, storytelling as well as arts and crafts to help students practise a language in an immersive setting.
Once the school moves to its new campus on Dairy Farm Road in August 2018, it will launch an arts initiative to transform the campus into a dynamic learning space that promotes enquiry-led learning.
GESS creates a home away from home for expats through strong community traditions such as the International Summer Party that celebrates cultures, and GESS Talks, which provide parenting support for the community.
“There is a very warm community feel to the school and all involved (teachers, students, administrative staff) try to be accommodating to various needs and wants. Any family from around the world can join and feel at home – the International Baccalaureate makes sure of that.”
