Did you know: In Singapore, only 22 percent of households cook every day?
As a result, many families have forgotten the value of making wholesome meals together, and children don’t know where their food comes from. But, The Good Food Co. are on a mission to change that – one healthy, homecooked meal and conscious kids’ party at a time!
First, what is good food? “Good food takes time. It nourishes the body and spirit,” says The Good Food co. team. Their aim is to immerse children in this beautiful world of rich, delicious food – wafting aromas, vivid flavours as they both grew up surrounded by food made with love.
Citing studies that show that children perform better in school when they eat regular family meals, and choose healthier food as young adults, The Good Food Co. team try to make it easier for busy families to cook at home as well as entertain. How? All of foods sold on the site or served to clients are sourced locally and use organic ingredients whenever possible. In addition, the company has a strict no-sugar, no-preservatives policy.
On the site’s Shop Pantry Staples section, you can choose from delicious sauces and more, including – at press time – Homemade Sugar-Free Ketchup ($12 for 250 millilitres) and Ligurian Basil Pesto with Rocket ($12.50 for 200 millilitres). All of the prepared foods are hand-bottled in glass jars and, for this reason, it’s recommended you refrigerate them after opening and consume within five to 10 days.
You can even pick up a plasticand BPA-free Eco-Conscious Lunch Box ($24.90) on the site, so you’ll know your child’s food container is as healthy as what’s inside!
The Good Food Co. has a boutique catering arm, too, which “works closely with clients to customise a conscious menu for little people that is tailored to the occasion.” The team carefully caters to any dietary preferences and allergy requirements as well.
Some recent kids’ party menus have included: fresh berry smoothies, rainbow-hued salads, quinoa burgers and lentil Bolognese. “Our engagements are highly personalised,” they put simply.
