Since 2014, Dulwich College (Singapore)’s DUCKS programme has established itself as a comprehensive Early Years Learning centre that caters to children aged 2 to 7.
The campus has enviable facilities and well-resourced classrooms, which create a nurturing, safe and secure environment for children to develop a passion for learning and explore the world around them.
Students in Dulwich College (Singapore) are involved in the school’s House system. Students belong to one of four Houses: Earhart, Lee, Mandela and Shackleton. Each House competes throughout the year in academics, sports, drama and other activities. With this established system, it gives students an opportunity to create a sense of community, foster a team spirit with other students and gives them sense of pride as well as working across age groups.
Children in DUCKS are also given leadership opportunities as House Captains, eco ambassadors, part of the nutritional committee and Student
Council, just to name a few. These positions are elected by the student body and their peers. Once elected, students contribute by getting involved in the day-to-day running of the College as well as major events.
The College uses purposeful play to instil confidence amongst children learning Mandarin and English. As such, each DUCKS class is taught by at least one native English speaking teacher and one native Mandarin speaking teacher, creating a dual-language space in which students are comfortable to explore and develop their language skills.
All DUCKS students are enrolled in Dulwich College (Singapore)’s Learn To Swim Programme, which aims for all DUCKS children to be competent swimmers. These lessons are implemented through weekly swimming lessons in one of the College’s three pools.
Dulwich College (Singapore) boosts its curriculum through a variety of enrichment activities. Through this, not only do students develop an
awareness of the world beyond the College, they learn to understand and invent ways to improve their immediate environment and the
lives of those around them.
