At Blue House Nursery & International Preschool, education is fuelled by the belief that children learn best from hands-on experiences and relationships with others.
But, the Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool also caters to busy parents. It offers a choice of two, three or five half or full days, including a nap option for the youngest children.
Blue House values the importance of creating an environment for children to take ownership of their own learning journeys, benefiting them well beyond their education and into their lives thereafter. Children are encouraged to share and exchange ideas with other classmates, use their creativity to follow various fields of inquiry and flow with their opinions and questions.
At the heart of the school, Blue House’s indoor Ateliers and central outdoor Piazza offer children a safe environment to communicate and form relationships with others. The use of space, light and colour; attention to detail; and emphasis on nature and aesthetics play a crucial role in creating a context of research, allowing your child to learn from his or her surrounding environment.
Educators at Blue House are not only teachers, they are also facilitators, nurturers and guides for the children in their care. Following a child-led approach, teachers listen, document, challenge and support children to be curious and creative in finding solutions to problems they may encounter, and then test their theories.
Blue House recognises the importance of art. Children have access to art supplies at all times, and are exposed to various materials such as wire, clay, paint or charcoal. They are encouraged to use of these materials to express their theories, feelings and ideas about the world around them, which helps to improve their emotional and social development.
With Blue House’s unique approach to teaching, it believes that active participation from parents strengthens their child’s sense of worth, belonging and confidence. Parents are regularly invited to connect with their child to build experiences together, creating a seamless and powerful partnership between home and school.
