ISS International School is Singapore’s longest-established authorised three-programme International Baccalaureate (IB) school, having nurtured global-minded students since 1981.
It has an inclusive learning culture that empowers students with the range of competencies and characteristics needed for them to become fulfilled global citizens.
ISS embraces the needs of all learners and believes that inclusive education benefits every student. Teachers adjust their support to fit the needs of each student. In addition, the more than 50 multinational students currently enrolled are also a testament to the school’s inclusivity.
Class ratios at ISS are kept low: 8 students to 1 teacher in high school, 15:1 in middle school, and 18:1 in elementary school. ISS provides a safe and nurturing environment, where faculty and staff know the students by name, enabling them to care for students’ well-being and address any potential problems in a timely manner.
ISS is able to customise learning journeys according to a student’s requirements and interests. The close student-teacher interaction – a successful formula for the school – enables the delivery of an education centred on students’ needs to give students the best chance to realise their potential.
ISS offers an extensive range of extracurricular and leadership activities to complement the academic subjects taught and to holistically nurture the students’ personal development. The difference at ISS is that there are more opportunities for students
to get involved. As opposed to just choosing the best or better students to participate in a certain sport or activity, equal opportunities are provided for every student to develop in their chosen field.
“Our son has been given a wealth of opportunities at ISS over the years to become self-confident, gain social skills, develop skills in effectively organising as well as presenting himself. Under the tutelage of capable teachers, he’s learnt to be discerning and inquiring, even discovering his gifts, passion and life direction at ISS. It is a caring and flexible community, committed to
the best care and success of its students.” – Jean, mother of an ISS student in Grade 11
