With more than 900 students from 50 different countries, Nexus International School (Singapore) puts your child at the centre of his or her own education.
This philosophy is echoed by every teacher and in every class and during extra-curricular activity.
At Nexus, educators work hard to ensure that each child has a world-class education. The school also boasts an internationally accredited programme recognised by the most respected awarding bodies. Nexus is both an Apple Distinguished and a WWF Eco School, as well as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the Primary Years and Diploma programmes.
Nexus believes in empowering their teachers to push boundaries in being as creative and innovative as they can be. Not only does Nexus support their teaching staff with training, but their open and flexible classrooms allow teachers to be dynamic in their teaching, making lessons more enjoyable for all students alike.
Once it opens in January 2020, Nexus’s new campus in Aljunied will feature a dedicated space for Nursery and Kindergarten learners. This will include their own kitchen, mindfulness area, playground and canteen. Plus, it’ll have plenty of space for children to be active outside with their own treehouse, mud kitchen and a scooter course!
As part of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), and drawing on multiple curriculum standards from around the world, the school’s Early Years programme follows a play and inquiry-based system. Its areas of learning include the arts, science, technology as well as personal, social and physical education. Parents can opt for their children to learn the French or Mandarin language too, through daily immersive language lessons from specialist teachers.
At Nexus, the school puts much care into building a tight-knit community where parents, teachers and children collaborate to create a learning-focused relationship. With an open-door policy, parents and teachers are able to communicate regularly, and parents are welcome to join their children’s classes for projects and actively contribute as well. Nexus’s new school will not only have a dedicated parent lounge, giving parents easy access to the field for sporting events, but its campus will also include a shared workspace for parents to meet up, pick up and drop off their children with convenience, too.
