Located just on the tip of the Iskandar Peninsula in Johor, Marlborough College Malaysia (MCM) is a coeducational British international Day/Boarding School that continues the pioneering spirit of its mother school, Marlborough College in Wiltshire, UK by creating a values-led, successful, and happy community.
The College draws upon the very best traditions of one of the finest British boarding schools, while adding an exciting international dimension.
The school is a genuine extension, and not a franchise of Marlborough College in the UK, and therefore, shares personnel, governance, values and philosophy with the UK College. It draws upon the very best traditions of one of the finest British boarding schools, while adding an exciting international dimension.
Set just 13 kilometres from Singapore, MCM provides an unrivalled system of pastoral care, which seeks to promote individual and academic confidence. The College comprises Prep School (ages 3-13), and Senior School (age 13-18), with more than 900 pupils. Students aged 9 onwards may board.
The strength of the boarding experience, lies in its quality relationships formed through
daily interactions and the sense of companionship that these engender. MCM believes that the boarding houses provide the foundation upon which supported independence and youthful fellowship is built. Pupils learn to treat each other and all members of the community with kindness, sensitivity and respect. The boarding experience helps to develop a firm sense of belonging as well as friendships that last beyond the College.
The College ensures that its students in the Sixth Form, are nurtured through soft skills and leadership, not just academic and co-curricular opportunities.
“The opportunities and high-level teaching that our daughters are receiving at MCM are proving to be invaluable tools for life. The dedicated teachers provide the highest level of support and commitment, ensuring our children are getting a first class education to achieve their full potential. The sprawling College grounds and facilities are hard to beat as it’s not something you can get in Singapore due to land limitations.” – Lisa and Peter Coulson, parents to Paris (Year 11) and Gigi (Year 9)
