Having worked for multiple veterinary clinics for several years, Dr. Huang Zhixiong and Dr. Kim Koh wanted to “mould a clinical practice that was in line with our own values,” says the married pair, who are parents to 17-month-old son Flynn.
This led them to start The Visiting Vets in 2014, which certainly stands out from the competition. “In addition to seeing patients in our clinic, we offer personalised care and follow-ups, and house calls in some cases, too!”

At the start, being the new veterinary clinic on the block in a competitive market wasn’t easy. “There are plenty of other clinics,” they point out, adding, “It was tough finding the right staff with a dedication to commit to the quality of care that we strive for.” Plus, the duo had to give up a lot of their personal time to manage the clinic and patients, while waiting for the right staff to come along. But, their love for their work was infectious, and they now have a strong team.
After treating pets at their clinic all day, Dr. Huang and Dr. Koh enjoy cooking at home, spending time with their little one and hitting the tennis courts. “We try to play tennis whenever we can!” they gush. The couple also enjoys Kuriya Japanese restaurant for authentic Japanese fine dining.
