Established in 1993 by brothers Mr. Low Cheong Kee (CK)and Mr. Low Cheong Yew (CY), Home-Fix first started out as a family-owned hardware shop in Siglap Centre.
But over the years, it has grown into a full-fledged lifestyle brand that is “synonymous with a home-centric, home-loving and house-proud lifestyle,” says CK. Today, Home-Fix is a chain of 25 stores in Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and Mongolia.
The brand’s success lies in the brothers’ recognition that DIY and home improvement projects were no longer the sole domain of the trained carpenter or handyman. “This motivated us to understand a new generation of consumers who not only wanted reliable products, but also sound advice and guidance in improving their homes,” says CY.
This year, Home-Fix celebrates its 25th anniversary, and continues to diversify. Its new Try In Store, Buy Online (TISBO) option allows you to touch and try the product in-store, scan its details and then make your purchase online once you are satisfied. Additionally, Home-Fix now retails products from popular and innovative brands such as Green Kulture and simplehuman.
A homegrown, child-friendly brand, Green Kulture was created with the aim of promoting a healthier lifestyle through sustainable solutions and a chemical-free environment. It offers an affordable selection of toxin-free cleaning liquids for dishwashing, laundry, baby clothes and more, and is made from a natural, plant-derived probiolytic solution that comes from fruit and vegetable enzymes.
There’s always room for improvement – at least, that’s the motto behind simplehuman, which retails a sleek collection of kitchen and bathroom equipment. Its bestseller is the whisper-quiet, touch-free sensor bins, which are fitted with infrared fields that sense the area above and in front
of the bin, opening it automatically. It comes with a nano-silver clear coat to protect the bin from germs and fingerprints, and also has a dual bin model for general waste and recyclables.
Another popular product is the sensor mirror, which has a wide viewing area and touch-control brightness. simplehuman also offers touch-free soap pumps, shower caddies, dish racks and much more.
