Are you ready for this?

If you need to get motivated about your fitness and wellness goals, maybe you should hit the couch and watch these documentaries that will change the way you view your wellness and health.

The half-hearted decision to watch the film Fat, Sick And Nearly Dead two years ago, literally changed my life.

I repeat, that film CHANGED MY LIFE as you can see in this picture.

I’m often asked, ”What happened that made you finally commit to such enormous weight loss?” At first, I watched one film, then later more films educated me. That enlightenment SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME. The choices WE make determine our health and life expectancy, at least that which is within our control. Fear can be a good motivator, mortality is a great one!

IS IT A CASE OF THE TAIL WAGGING THE DOG FOR YOU?

So much of what we fill our mind with is UNCONSCIOUS. Facebook feeds, favourite TV series, ads, Instagram, work stuff – we are a captive passenger on somebody else’s journey every day. Stop for a wee second and implement some changes. Why not schedule some LIFE CHANGING movie-watching time that puts YOU back in the driver’s seat of your amazing life. I seldom have the time or concentration required these days to read but I have no excuse for not shutting down Facebook at night and opting for a fab documentary instead that will inspire me to live my best life.

Life can be filled with too many negative life-changing moments: I lost my job, my boyfriend left me, I’ve put on weight, I had an accident. How about swapping it out to I’m healthy because I make great nutrition choices, I’m alert because I love my exercise, I’m super motivated because I watched a biography on one of my hero’s and felt so inspired, I get loads of compliments because of how I look and feel . CHOOSE to create positive life-changing moments in your world by determining what you watch, read and who you spend your time with.

Start with one of these films and click on the link for the trailers:

1. Fat, Sick And Nearly Dead

An obese man endeavors to drink only fruit and vegetable juice for 60 days in an effort to lose weight and reclaim his health.

2. Forks Over Knives

Researchers explore the possibility that people changing their diets from animal-based to plant-based can help eliminate or control diseases like cancer and diabetes.

3. That Sugar Movie

Learn about the effects of eating supposedly healthy foods that contain high amounts of sugar.

4. Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret

This film addresses the effects of cattle on the environment.

5. Food Matters

Nutritionists, naturopaths, doctors, and journalists weigh in on topics on how the food we eat can help or hurt our health.

These are all wellness-related and could literally add years to your life (I really believe this) but how about watching some documentaries about your next holiday destination or a biography on someone who you admire or is at the top of their game in one of your areas of interest. Stimulate inspiration and motivation with what you watch.

Please, invest in yourself carefully – don’t be mindless about your life, it goes so quickly.

Take control of what you are filling up your mind and life with. It requires very little effort — you just have to decide to do so.
