Expatpreneur Awards 2019: How Natasha Cullen Created FUN Antenatal Classes For Parents-To-Be In Singapore

Through Beloved Bumps, she doesn't just teach antenatal classes. Natasha also builds pregnant couples a support network of friends.

One of the first things British expat Natasha Cullen noticed, upon moving to SG with her family in 2017, was a lack of warm-and welcoming antenatal classes for expats and global locals.

“I was shocked that in a country, where most expats don’t have their families here, there weren’t many platforms for building strong support networks for new parents,” says Natasha, herself a mum of two, and with 8 years of experience being a midwife in the U.K. “So, I set out to create Beloved Bumps, which would not only teach antenatal classes, but also build pregnant couples a support network of friends who were having babies around the same time. They’re the ones whom you are going to be messaging at 4 a.m. when you’re feeding!”

Natasha launched Beloved Bumps that same year and has been helping to nurture young families ever since. Through word-of-mouth, her clientele has grown and her offerings have expanded beyond antenatal, first-aid and exercise classes.

“My business would have taken longer to thrive in other countries,” says Natasha. “The beauty of Singapore is that it’s small, so word gets around quickly and people recommend services a lot here. If they say it’s good, then their friends will take their word for it!”
