Even though Porcelain, The Face Spa began in 2009 as a pet project by Pauline Ng, its Founder and Managing Director, The Face Spa’s history can be traced back to the 1990s.
Jenny Teng, Pauline’s mother and Co-Founder and Director Aesthetician at Porcelain, started servicing clients out of a rented bomb shelter at the foot of a Housing Board block in Jurong. It wasn’t long before Jenny’s deep-cleansing treatments and extraction skills – who has practised for more than 30 years – earned her a strong following.
Together, the mother and daughter team has aimed to solidify Porcelain, The Face Spa’s reputation as a provider of premium facials with its own line of skincare products. Porcelain currently holds 18 products under its brand, with the Balance Sebum Control Essence and HydraClear Gel being some of the most popular items with customers.
Porcelain also launched Porcelain Aesthetics in July 2014 to offer clients medically-graded noninvasive aesthetic treatments.
In 2014, Porcelain, The Face Spa’s Quintessential treatment won three awards, including the CLEO Clear Skin Awards 2014 for Best Deep Cleansing Facial. The treatment uses an intense extraction method to clear congested pores and custom-blended products that are designed to repair acne-prone skin.
Other award-winning treatments include the OxyRevive Plus, which is designed to refine pores, reduce water retention and improve overall skin tone, clarity and elasticity using an advanced two-step hyperbaric oxygen therapy combined with a traditional Shiatsu face massage. First launched as a postnatal skin treatment, the Restorative treatment also uses similar methods to hydrate and brighten the skin.
“In our experience, taking care of one’s skin, lies not only in quality treatments but also with a good skincare regimen,” says Pauline. “By providing both, Porcelain, The Face Spa is taking a step towards helping more and more people achieve healthier skin every day.”
