FYI, Walking In Singapore Is Sometimes Quicker Than Taking The MRT

14 September 2017

And it’s not because of the MRT breakdowns.

A new MRT network map which will be made available at stations in the city will show commuters how to save time on their trips, and burn off some calories at the same time.

This new Walking Train Map (WTP) shows the walking time between stations on different lines, detailing hacks that can reduce your travel time by as much as 5 times. Case in point: The MRT commute from Telok Ayer MRT station to Raffles Place MRT Station takes about 23 minutes, versus an estimated walking time of only 5 minutes.

After all, with the rail network in the central area becoming more dense, stations on different MRT lines are now within walking distance, making them faster to reach on foot, rather than making transfers via train.

All aboard the walking path!
