Join Friends of the Museum (FOM) for its annual ‘Open Morning’ where you can come and find out about all the wonderful activities FOM has to offer. The lecture by Patricia Welch will talk about how scholars are only now learning how to interpret the messages of propaganda and dissent that have been hidden in Chinese art for two thousand years.

A former Lecturer in Chinese history in both the USA and Norway, she relocated to Hong Kong from Norway in the 1980’s, and to Singapore in 1995. She has published several books on Asian art, including ‘Chinese Art: A Guide to Motifs and Visual Imagery’, which can be found in both the Kinokuniya and ACM bookstores. Patricia is also a frequent contributor to Asian arts and culture magazines. She is also currently the President of the Southeast Asian Ceramics Society.

The lecture will be held in the Ngee Ann Auditorium (basement), the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM). Doors open at 10am with coffee/tea and treats available.
