One of Singapore’s best Italian restaurants, Pete’s Place in Orchard Road is loved for its authentic Italian food offerings.
The kitchen is helmed by Chef Cataldo Chiloiro – fondly known as Chef Aldo – who prefers to use produce, ingredients and inspiration from his hometown of Taranta, Puglia, Italy.
Here’s what’s to love!
Sample a tantalising Parmiagiana di Melanzane ($22), an oven-baked appetiser coated with Parmesan, tomato sauce, thinly sliced eggplant and a generous sprinkling of melted mozzarella.
New mains include the Merluzzo in Crosta di Patate ($35), oven-baked cod with spinach and tomato sauce and a crunchy potato crust. Or, you can savour the Ossobuco al Pomodoro ($39), cross-cut veal shank braised with vegetables, wine and broth, served with mashed potatoes and baby carrots.
The pizzas here are made with Chef Aldo’s special, in-house, 48-hour pizza dough. Its recipe allows the yeast to settle more evenly, creating a lighter, more flavourful crust. Each pizza is baked in a red brick oven that’s fired with sustainably sourced Jarrah wood from Australia for consistent heat and a distinct flavour.
Try the Pizza Burrata ($25), which has a tomato sauce base, fresh basil leaves, chopped tomatoes and a lavish spread of burrata cheese.
Environmentally conscious diners will love the Linguine Nero e Gamberi ($29). This squid ink linguine uses sustainable prawns and calamari that are seared to tenderness.
End your meal with a Semifreddo al Pistachio ($16), a Bronte pistachio parfait with an almond biscuit and chocolate sauce topping, or the indulgent Morbido al Cioccolato ($16) lava cake with homemade vanilla bean ice cream.
Brunch the Italian way – think free-flow fresh salads, to-die-for antipasti, customised handmade pasta dishes from various live stations, risotto specials, freshly shucked oysters with mignonette dressing, cold poached prawns, crabs and more from a sustainable seafood counter.
Also, satisfy your sweet tooth with signature desserts like tiramisu and panna cotta at the Pete’s Place Sunday Brunch Experience from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Brunch is priced at $48 per adult and $29 per child between ages 5 and 12. Or, opt for the beverage package: $30 per adult with free-fl ow Prosecco, Italian wines, Tiger draft beer, Aperol spritz and Campari cocktails.
