During special times of the day, happiness comes cheap at these bars.
Drinks taste better with your mates at these bars — especially during happy hours. Peruse this list of the best-est deals and go paint the town red.
Funnily enough, despite being an urban rooftop bar, its graffiti-clad walls, floor murals and bold adornments give this swanky hideout a somewhat underground feel. Zen isn’t a thing here — in a good way, of course — and there’s plenty of funk to take in, with a Kinki Original cocktail like the Shochu Melon Citrus (shochu or Japanese distilled spirit, melon liqueur, lime juice, lemonade) in hand.
Happy hour: Enjoy 1-for-1 selected beers, wines and spirits, 5-8 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays.
70 Collyer Quay, Customs House, #02-02, 049323
This al fresco BBQ restaurant in the chic Dempsey Hill enclave also makes a cosy spot to wind (or wine) down. Camaraderie on sofa seats and garden swings are fuelled by clinks of glasses, and bar bites like skewers and sliders.
Happy hour: House pour spirits and wines and half-pint draught beers go on half price from 5-8pm daily.
13A Dempsey Rd, Singapore 247694
This whimsical rooftop bar — its name is a play on a “lazy Singaporean‘s” way of pronouncing “roof” — is as much a trip down memory lane for Singaporeans (or a road to discovery for expats) as it is a way to forget the booze-filled night.
Happy hour: Loof’s Beat The Clock promo offers house pours (beers, wines and spirits) cost only $5 from 5-5.59pm, increasing by a dollar each hour until 7.59pm, every Monday to Friday.
331 North Bridge Rd, Odeon Towers, #03-07, 188720
From its 45th floor penthouse location, Angie’s Oyster Bar boasts stunning views of Singapore’s Central Business District (CBD) skyline, tasty drinks and fresh seafood. The bar’s also got seasonal, specially-imported craft beers on tap in its very own craft beer tasting room.
Happy hour: It’s more about the oysters than the beer, TBH – freshly shucked oysters go for just $1 each from 6-8pm every day! Still a perfect excuse to knock off from work on time when you want to partake in its happy hour deals (before 8 p.m.) and $10 cocktails (after 8 p.m.).
50 Raffles Pl, Singapore Land Tower, #45-01/02, 048623
Call (for) the shots at Singapore’s only dedicated shooters bar, with 130 power-packed shots beyond even your alcohol-addled imagination. Go from a yummy “Pumpkin Pie” to a naughty “Slippery Nipple”. Also, some shots may involve fire, magic and all that stuff. No biggie.
Happy hour: Knock these bad boys back for $6 a pop from 6:30-9 p.m. daily.
3B River Valley Rd, 179021
Who said there are no good deals to be found in a tourist destination as popular as Marina Bay Sands (MBS)? P.S. Another pro tip: pre-theatre menus that typically run from 5:30-7 p.m. are much more affordable than dinner menus (you’re welcome).
Happy hour: Signature cocktails at celebrity restaurant bars and other participating establishments at MBS are priced at 50% off on Social Hour (6-9 p.m.) on Tuesdays. Take your pick from Bread Street Kitchen, CUT, The Bar at Waku Ghin and more.
10 Bayfront Ave, Marina Bay Sands, 018956
Modelled after the ever-so-popular izakayas (Japanese pubs) in Japan, this CBD bar is popular amongst the working crowd at any time of day for some liquid stress relieve. Oh, and live performances all night long.
Happy hour: You might have guessed from its name: All-day $5 specials on Asahi draught, wine, saké, shochu (Japanese distilled beverage that’s less than 45-percent alcohol), and all house pour spirits. Work is stressful, ok?
16 Collyer Quay, #01-05B, 049318
Tipples at this 1920s-themed experimental cocktail bar celebrate and reinvent oldies-but-goldies cocktails, from Bloody Your Own Mary (vodka, tomato and lemon juices, and spices) and Whisky Business (chamomile-infused whisky, strawberry jam, mint and citrus).
Happy hour: Try any of these cocktails at $21 during regular hours. For its happy hour, cop $9 house pours, house wines and draught beer from 5-8 p.m. on week days. Also, take on $2 oysters on these same days, same timing.

Happy hour: Fancy a good deal? Astor Bar’s Champagne Hour might only be an hour long from 6:30-7:30 p.m. daily, but their house champagne goes at $19++ per glass, a marked discount from the usual $36.
29 Tanglin Rd, The St. Regis Singapore (Lobby level), 247911
An ode to the art of 19th century mixology, when cocktail recipes were listed in “jiggers” and “ponies”, this bar specialises in timeless tipples or reinvented spin-offs, lovingly crafted down to the minutest detail — even the ice is hand-carved daily to a specific cube size! Update: it has moved on from its Amoy Street location at the end of July after 6 years and has relocated to Amara Hotel so look out for its official opening party here!
Happy hour: What it offered from 6-8 p.m. daily while it was at Amoy Street was certain bespoke cocktails such as the Pear Gimlet (Beefeater Gin, sugar and lime) and Savoy Cooler (Bacardi Superior and soda) going for only $15. Expect the same or better drinks or deals at its new spot.
