If you’re piling on the artificial flavourings and fattening stuff, even the healthiest of foods will become unhealthy. Take oatmeal for example. Fruits such as berries, peaches and apples can be used to sweeten a bowl of plain oatmeal while providing more nutrients than sugar or artifical sweeteners.

If you need to make a dessert for your guests or for yourself, famous chocolatier Jacques Torres recommends a chocolate one. Instead of buying the something right off the shelves, making it from scratch by using chocolate ingredients that have a high cocoa content. They provide more antioxidants and also give the desserts a more intense chocolate flavour which can increase satiety faster and prevent overeating.
