Happy B-Day USA!
Do more than just stay home to celebrate the 4th of July — take part in the revelry at these spots in Singapore that are hosting special activities for celebrating the red, white and blue.
Families are welcome at the American Association of Singapore’s (AAS) annual 4th of July Celebration, in partnership with Singapore American School. Get happy with lots of food, music, drinks and carnival games, attend formal ceremonies and watch an amazing fireworks display that will end the day on a high note. New this year: a marketplace where local vendors will be selling their wares and a pre-event option to buy tickets for carnival games (see here). And though attendees are required to pay for food, drinks and activities, there is no admission charge, and what’s better, it is open to all!

If you are suffering from post-Independence Day blues, head to the kitchen table at W Singapore — Sentosa Cove. Their American BBQ Brunch ($188++) may not be held in a backyard, but what the chefs here have curated for its 8 July Grills Gone Wild special is a range of premium carveries and roasts paired with bottomless beer, bubbly, cocktails and house wines. In addition, there’s complimentary access to WET® pool at the hotel so everyone can have a post-brunch dip as well. July babies get lucky here: there’s a 25-percent off the total bill and if your b-day falls on 4th July, you even get a “dine-for-free” deal!

Fire up the grill at Camp Kilo Charcoal Club for Independence Day on the evening of 4th July. The good folks here are teaming up with Asia’s first authentic Texas barbecue resto Decker Barbecue to serve up lots of meat (think smoked pork belly and brisket), and with Pabst Blue Ribbon Beers Singapore and Angra Wine & Spirit Importers to make sure the drinks are sorted. Down the drinks specials for the night: Frozen Blackberry Margarita, Frozen Raspberry Daiquiri and Spiced Rum Pineapple Punch are but three to try. To complete this mid-week party, there’s also DJ KiDG throwing his style of funk & soul into this BBQ mix. Do note: the Club only takes walk-ins.

There are also exclusive daybed drinks packages (from $375) to buy if you really want to live it up this weekend before the actual day.
