“Fostering creativity and confidence in young children is what Gymboree’s wide range of programmes does best,” says its director Rita Mulani.
The popular play centre has Art, Music, Play & Learn and Sports offerings, plus Infant sessions and Family classes – where siblings and friends can join in – all in a safe, inclusive environment in which children are free to explore to their heart’s content.
Gymboree’s programmes are designed in collaboration with national child development expert Zero to Three®, and are intended to help children develop cognitive, physical and social skills as they play. It also encourages parents to participate so they can understand their child’s development. “These classes help students learn and have fun with their peers under the diligent guidance of our facility’s teachers,” says Rita, who notes that Gymboree recently added two new classes for babies and toddlers.
Set in Gymboree’s new space at Tanglin Shopping Centre, Baby Lab is a multi-sensory experience for tots aged 6 to 10 months that “allows for plenty of crawling, rolling and tummy time, and is designed to build brain power, stimulate reflexes while bonding with mum and dad,” says Rita. “The immersive play experience is multi-disciplinary and explores music, art, baby sign language, literacy and mindfulness, sensory integration and much more.”
Need a little more stimulation for your toddler? Gymboree also offers Play Lab, an innovative new programme that allows kids between ages 2 and 5 to explore S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math).
The multi-disciplinary class is designed to introduce your child to engineering, chemistry, mechanics, design, art and math, while teaching him or her to problem-solve. “The S.T.E.A.M.-inspired class is great for the young maker and thinker. It takes an active approach to school readiness skills and maintains our approach to whole-child learning,” says Rita.
