Co-founders of Pinnacle Chiropractor Health Group, Janelle and Derek are married with children – an almost-6-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son – and spend their days working and playing together, whether it’s doing yoga or partaking in their kids “sporty activities” like martial arts and scooting around town.
And they wouldn’t have it any other way. “We are business partners as well as life partners,” says Janelle, who met Derek in chiropractic school in their home state of California. “We share the same passions, purpose and vision.”
What led them to open their wellness-based clinic in 2011? To service the cross-cultural community of Singapore. “Our goal is to treat everyone as humanly as possible,” she says. “We know we are doing a great job, when a taxi driver drops us off at work and says, ‘I’ve heard great things about you’.”
Having lived in Singapore for 10 years, the American couple has also created an innovative programme called MovementMatters, which helps parents and caretakers to engage with their babies and help optimise their nervous system and brain development. Janelle also works as a doula. “We are our business, and we are what people trust.”
