Melissa Hie is the face behind Girl Eat World, where she blogs about her fave travel and food finds.
By day, Melissa is a full-time product designer at TradeGecko. “I was recently promoted to senior designer, and I’m pretty happy about that!” she says. The Indonesian-born globetrotter moved to the USA in 1999 and then to SG in 2009. “I recently got my citizenship, so now I am a proud Singaporean,” she shares.
Her Indie Fix
“I love catching movies at The Projector. It shows a curation of good movies, and it’s what I do almost every weekend.”
She Likes Green
Melissa invests in house plants instead of other home accessories. She recently bought peace lilies and a small palm plant from The Traveling Farm, since she says, “I read somewhere that these plants reduce humidity inside the house.”
In addition to new brands promoted by SG Instagram influencers, Melissa says she adores crowd favourite Love Bonito – “just because it’s so accessible.”
She goes makeup-free on most days and keeps her skincare routine simple, which Melissa claims helps her skin “look younger than it really is.” She likes the Time Revolution Night Repair Science Activator Ampoule from Missha.
