Brit pub grup at The Jackson Plan
Serving a straight-forward, hearty and plentiful menu The Jackson Plan presents authentic British fare drawing inspiration from heritage Singapore. This 90-seat British gastrobar is named after Lieutenant Philip Jackson, an often overlooked engineer who first divided Singapore's colony into four main districts in 1822 - Chinatown, Chulia (now Little India), Kampong Glam and the Eurasian quarter. Try authentic British nosh such as lamb faggots with marrowfat peas, scotch duck egg, fish and chips, shepherd's pie, cullen skink, Lancashire hot pot, white and black pudding and cured ox tongue. And if space permits, the Eccles cake for dessert is a must! Of course, a visit to a British gastro pub isn't complete without a drink. Order the refreshing Pimm's No.1 or a Duxton Punch, or take a walk on the wild side with a Coolie's Cup - a head-spinning concoction of rum, absinthe, calamansi, mint, Gula Malaka and cinnamon. 40 Duxton Hill. Three-course weekday set lunch from only $18.50 (Mon-Fri, 11:30am-2:30pm). Tel: 6866 1988, www.thejacksonplan.com
