Horizon Asset Management is a financial investment firm helmed by Managing Director James Weschler, an American, since the late 1980s. Over the years, James has diversified his interests and businesses, starting with Villa Pantai Biru. This stunning five-bedroom villa is situated on Seminyak beach, just one of two villas located on Bali's most exclusive stretch of sand and sea. Unique and affordable, Villa Pantai Biru is a popular home-away-from-home for many of Singapore's expatriate families.
James' latest venture is AntiquesAsian. This newly-opened antiques store, located in Tanglin Shopping Centre, has allowed James to indulge and share his love of antiques collected over many years of travel, including prized yet affordable treasures dating from 4,000BC to the 18th Century AD.
JW: A stay at Villa Pantai Biru is organised purely for the pleasure of our guests. The proximity of the ocean just 10 metres away and magnificent sea views from all bedroom en-suites is unique. TF: Is Villa Pantai Biru child-friendly?
JW: Absolutely. We provide highchairs, cots and cribs with mosquito nets, safety nets, a children's pool and pool toys, plus an assortment of DVDs. The Villa also has big gardens and a koi pond with turtles waiting to be fed. We also offer babysitting services upon request.
Select the perfect villa
Look for space Villas may appear spacious in photos but condo-size in reality. Ask about enclosed walls and noisy neighbours.
Staff check Inexperienced part-time staff are sometimes employed to save costs. Check to confirm your villa is managed and staffed by those with experience.
Beachfront, or near to beach A villa advertised as "five minutes walk to the beach" means no direct beach access - so keep in mind you'll always be a walk away from toilet facilities, drinking water and food.
