Choosing between natural timber and composite decking
When choosing between natural timber and composite decking, the decision usually boils down to personal taste. But there are a few factors about both products you should be aware of.
While both are economical, safe and environmentally friendly, providing a stylish timber finish, many believe natural timber is the only thing that really looks like natural timber. But some newer, composite products are of superior quality and it can be very difficult to tell the difference between composite and the real thing. Plus you might find you prefer the colour, texture and feel of the composite material. The primary difference between the two is maintenance. Because it contains an organic plastic component, composite decking is more resistant to insect damage, weathering, moisture damage and it won't splinter or rot. Colour is unlikely to fade further once the weathered colour has been achieved and you never need to paint or stain composite decking. Xinzhan Material, Tel: 9424 4660, http://xinzhan.multiply.com
