The Blue Leaf believes every floral arrangement should be custom-made to reflect your lifestyle and individual personality. According to South African owner Stacey Holcroft, assisted by her talented and dedicated colleague Karli Chang, personal attention and client satisfaction are the cornerstones of any successful business. And Stacey encourages her clients to view flowers in a different light, by trying new design styles and floral mixes. Only fresh flowers are used at The Blue Leaf as Stacey believes their fleeting beauty enhances the enjoyment they provide, helping to create memories which will never fade.
TF: What services does The Blue Leaf offer?
SH: Bouquets and arrangements for homes and individuals - including an online build-your-own service, regular weekly flower arrangements and set-up for restaurants and homes, plus baby and gift hampers. We've also been involved in quite a few weddings and regularly assist with fashion, lifestyle and commercial photo shoots. Recently, we sponsored Richard and Sofia, a couple who attempted the Swissotel Vertical Marathon Love Bird Challenge.
Our plans for the future are to expand our client base and participate in interesting design work. We're also introducing an exciting and interesting new concept to Singapore. Stay tuned!
TF: Most memorable floral arrangement?
SH: The Warrior Woman-themed floral arrangement we did for Mariana Nelson. It was a perfect theme for her as she's involved in the Standard Chartered Diversity and Inclusion Programme for women in the Middle East.
TF: Do roses remain the most popular Valentine's Day flower?
SH: Red roses are always a hit! But The Blue Leaf tends to focus on bespoke designs, so we're always trying out new, exciting styles and flower combinations.
You can certainly expect something out of the ordinary from us.
TF: Do specific colours or themes have a relevant flower?
SH: The significance of flowers does vary according to culture and country. Singapore is an exciting market as there are so many cultures. We're constantly mixing and matching to reflect the Lion City's diversity and dynamic energy.
Red is reflective of love, energy, strength and respect and is typically used for a happy occasion or celebration. Red roses are an all-time classic.
White demonstrates innocence, elegance, reverence, silence
and peace. Peonies make an elegant wedding bouquet.
Purple highlights ceremony, pride, success, faithfulness and hope. Singapore's classic purple orchid is a wonderful flower and although it's seen often, it deserves pride of place.
Pink shows grace, happiness, thankfulness and confidence. Carnations are a popular choice for Mothers Day.
