In the kitchen

Maintain cast iron: In a humid environment, it's important to season raw cast iron pans properly before using and store them with a thin coating of oil, to prevent rust. Should rust appear, simply rub the spot with a small piece of steel wool and some vegetable oil, re-season and it will be good as new.  For more tips on seasoning cast iron cooking pans visit www.kitchenemporium.com/info/castiron.html

  • Testing temperatures:  Place a cooking thermometer in your oven. Most ovens do not run true, so a proper cooking thermometer helps maintain an accurate temperature, resulting in success! Pantry Magic
