Laundering linen
Separate Wash cotton percale and sateen sheets and Egyptian cotton sheets separately to regular laundry items, as zippers, hooks and buttons can damage linen.
Detergent Use a mild detergent on a gentle cycle with cold temperature setting. pH balanced detergents such as Tide are recommended for fine cotton linens. Avoid chlorinated bleach as it damages cotton bedding fibres over time. If necessary, use non-chlorinated bleach for white and ivory cotton linens.
Dry To reduce wrinkling, remove cotton sheets promptly after washing and shake them prior to placing them in the dryer. Machine-dry at a warm temperature but remove linen while slightly damp and hang to dry. After remaking your bed, use your hands to smooth the sheets and minimise wrinkles.
Crisp finish While ironing cotton sheets is usually not necessary, it does produce a crisper finish.
