Add warmth with colour
Colour is the first thing to catch your eye when you enter a room. So repainting a room is one of the easiest - and most budget-friendly - ways to breathe new life into your home. When choosing colour, seek inspiration from an art piece, a favourite rug or a stunning view.
White walls can appear stark if there's too much natural light in a room. To add warmth, yet retain an airy feel, opt for a pale tone in a neutral or pastel shade. And don't try brightening a small, dark room with a light colour. It only highlights shadows, making the room appear cold and dim. You're better off creating an intimate, cosy mood with a warm or deep colour. Design Intervention, Tel: 6506 0920, www.designintervention.com.sg
