Changing the landscape of Sentosa and enhancing the allure of Singapore to tourists and residents alike, Universal Studios Singapore (USS) marked a historical moment as it opened its doors on March 18 at precisely 8:28am. Get set to lose yourself in seven thematic playgrounds of 24 attractions - 18 of which are unique to Singapore.
          Promising to be one of the world's most exciting family destinations, USS marries the best of the existing Universal Studios in Florida, California and Japan. Expect enthralling, world-famous attractions combining interactive groundbreaking rides and show technology with the world's most recognised movies and pop culture characters.
          Located within the $4.4 billion Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), USS is home to many world firsts, including the world's tallest duelling coasters, a Universal Monsters live show, celebrity look-a-likes including Marilyn Monroe and Betty Boop and a Far Far Away Castle - an iconic landmark in the box-office hit series Shrek sure to be a hit with little princesses and princes. And you won't get the chance to go hungry or feel mall-deprived, supporting the attractions are 30 food and beverage outlets and 20 retail stores.


Must-see attractions
Far Far Away Step into the land of Far Far Away. Discover Shrek's swamp house, stroll along Far Far Away's glamorous Romeo Drive and hit the hottest nightspot in town - Hook's Knight Club. Meet Shrek and Princess Fiona and sing along with Donkey at Shrek 4-D and Donkey Live. This magnificent castle also houses magical concoctions at the Fairy Godmother's Juice Bar and fairytale-themed cuisine inspired by Far Far Away's residents.

Battlestar Galactica
The world's tallest of its kind, these duelling coasters - themed after the hit television show Battlestar GalacticaTM - are guaranteed to offer thrill-seekers the ride of their lives. With one coaster seated and the other suspended, you'll feel a surge of adrenalin as this ride propels you on several inversions, a zero-g roll, a Cobra roll, corkscrews, vertical loops and near collisions mere inches apart. Definitely not for the faint hearted!

Sci-Fi City The world's first Sci-Fi zone features a futuristic metropolis filled with ultra-modern conveniences, remnants of past inhabitants and cultures, plus visitors from around the world and other planetariums. The entire city is set atop and powered by an enormous energy producing substructure which draws its power from the wind, sun and water sources above. Catch glimpses of the subterranean world as you get tossed into the tumultuous battle of Humans versus Cylons.

Madagascar: A Crate Adventure This fun family ride is brought to life with a state-of-the-art indoor boat ride featuring animated figures, digital projection, evocative sound and special effects. Join Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria as they arrive on the shores of Madagascar and meet the impulsive leader of the local lemurs, King Julien. Between dance moves on the jungle floor, King Julien asks the gang - aided by the technically-savvy but psychotic penguins - to help defeat Foosa, his nemesis.

Revenge of the MummyTM Enjoy high-speed psychological thrills as this ride twists through sharp turns and hits a fast reverse as it pits you against fireballs, scarab beetles and robotic warrior mummies - all in total darkness!

Lights! Camera! Action! Movie buffs will be blown away by the special effects, as an empty sound stage becomes the setting for a major hurricane about to hit New York City. Hosted by Academy award winning director Steven Spielberg.

Stage 28TM This fully-outfitted sound stage showcases some of Universal's feature films and props, enabling you to get a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at film production trade secrets.

Transformers Anticipated to debut only in 2011, launching at USS before making its way to Universal Studios Hollywood, this thrilling ride - based on the hit movie of the same name -fuses 3D-HD media, "mega" special effects and robotics, for a truly out-of-this-world experience.

Street entertainment
Rides won't be the only fun, Robin Goh, Assistant Director of Communications at Resorts World Sentosa has confirmed, "Street entertainment for the family within the park is plentiful, with shows such as Monster Rock and Kowabunga Cove, and break-dancers dazzling with songs and nifty dance moves. Themed F&B outlets and retail shops will also leave you feeling like you're in a whole different world".

Prices start at a weekday rate of $66 (adult), $48 (child), $32 (senior-citizen day pass) and $118 (two-day adult pass).
