Laos by rail

The Eastern & Oriental Express (www.orient-express.com) now travels to Vientiane, crossing the newly-built Friendship Bridge spanning Thailand and Laos. A three-night itinerary starts from Bangkok - or you can continue your E&O journey to Singapore - and includes visits to Khmer temples at Phimai and the picturesque Khao Yai wine region.
