Tip-top tresses
Whether you're after a stylish up-do or long, flowing locks, the only way to pull off "great hair" is to first ensure good maintenance. To get the best out of your hair:
Get a regular trim. Whether your hair is long or short, a trim every six to eight weeks helps maintain style and condition, getting rid of any dry, split ends.
Wash your hair in the morning. If your hair tends to be flat and limp, always wash it in the morning. Your hair picks up scalp and body oil from your pillow at night, weighing it down by the morning.
If your hair is oily, be gentle. Oily hair is best shampooed in cool water. Try not to massage your scalp, as you'll only stimulate your sebaceous glands - encouraging them to produce more oil.
Watch and learn. When you're at the hairdresser don't just read! Watch your stylist and study their technique, they'll be happy to offer you home-care advice or tips if you ask.
