Avoid weak teak

When selecting teak furniture, bear in mind you may not always live in the tropics. To be sure your furniture will stand the test of time and possible relocation to cooler climes, always find out how it was manufactured. Specifically ask how the wood has been dried. Ideally, teak wood should be kiln-dried for approximately 30 days, to reduce the moisture content to around eight percent. This will prevent movement, cracking and will certainly prolong the life of your teak wood furniture, ensuring it lasts a lifetime - and beyond. The Shophouse
