Do you measure up?

Make sure you keep a tape measure handy. Measure the space available in your home before shopping for furniture. While out, once you've narrowed down your options, take down their measurements. When you get home, get an old newspaper and cut out the shape of the base of the item. You can then use this to envision whether the piece will fit into your living space.
